5 Best Male Masturbators

Over the past few years there has been an explosion in male self-pleasure toys beyond the good old love doll. And it seems like you can buy them from everywhere.

They are also much more sophisticated and offer a range of sensations and options from vibrating versions and an endless variety of textured sleeves. There are those that are self-described as training ones.

There are the clear industry leaders in this space like Fleshlight, Lovense and Tenga. But there are so many other manufacturers around, it can start becoming difficult to know which one(s) to buy.

I know when I started buying them it felt a lot easier since the choices were pretty limited. Since I’m a fan of self love, I decided to give a bunch of different masturbators a go and rate them.

So before we get to the nitty gritty, here’s what I did so you know how I rated them.

Watch the video if you’d rather not have to read all about it. I can’t show them or how to maximize your enjoyment of them but you can always catch one of our live cam shows to find out 😉

My method

I selected my categories for reviewing them based on the kind of promotion and marketing that masturbators get to sell them. The categories I came up with are:

  • Material Feel
  • Hand Fit
  • Cock Fit
  • Orifice(s)
  • Feel of Sleeve
  • Session duration
  • Ease of cleaning (includes time before it was dry enough to use again)
  • Price
  • Other Features

Each category was given a rating out of 5, and I took some notes since I wasn’t going to get the review done in one session.

I also bought different varieties from different outlets. The outlets included Sexyland, Amazon AU, TEMU, Club X and Fleshlight. I did not review the automated/remote controlled varieties or the ones that had vibrations or mechanical suction. I also made sure that they were all under AU$100.

The brands I purchased were:

  • Fleshlight,
  • Tenga,
  • Crazy Bull,
  • Star Stroker,
  • M for Men and
  • Doc Johnson.

Here’s how I rated these adult pleasure tools

Ratings of Male Masturbators

However, this is not the first review of masturbators I’ve done.

For the last review, I used masturbators from Lovense, Signature Stroker, Maxtasy, PDX, and Cheap Thrills. I have to point out that for that review I did not consider the price as much given that a couple of the items exceeded the AU$100 I’d set for this article – the Maxtasy and Lovense toys well exceeded the AU$100 limit set.

* Lovense Gush received additional points because they included 2 rubber bands specifically designed for the toy to aid with a better, more snug fit.

So combining the results from the two reviews (I used the same scoring system and the same rating categories), here are my top 5 best male masturbators available in Australia.

The 5 Best Male Masturbators

1. Lovense Gush

The Gush is a great toy! It has an excellent range of vibrations but I have used it a few times without turning it on. The material they have used is soft while still being firm. It’s size is compact and it’s easy to hold. The wings on the Gush help spread the vibrations around your member and they hold on really well.

As you’d expect it can be remotely controlled by a lover or random, which adds another layer to the pleasure it gives. The addition of bands to allow for hands free self love is really the biggest thing that separates this from the rest.

It comes with a handy bag to keep it safe and dry, along with being somewhere to keep the charging cable so you don’t lose it. And it is the easiest masturbator to clean among the range I reviewed.

The price tag for this wonder-toy will probably mean some guys are missing out.

2. Fleshlight

Little needs to be said about Fleshlight. They have a great product with the sleeve feeling very skin-like especially when you’re putting it on. The suction cap is easily adjustable which is great while working away. They are generally a good size for the hands and are pretty easy to use when the blood pressure rises.

Insertion is easy and the sleeves I have used have all felt great. Most importantly they have all felt different just like the real thing. It is a pretty easy unit to clean with the sleeve being easily removed and reinserted. It’s also great being able to get the sense you get to have a feel of what the lovely ladies from our favorite entertainment films feel like.

The only real drawback is the drying time for the sleeves can hold you back from more self love, especially if you’re in a very horny mood. The price tag is another drawback but the quality of the sleeves to the cup make it worthwhile.

3. Maxtasy

Like the Fleshlight the Maxtasy was fun to use. Having many of the same sort of things, there’s nothing really to say. The main difference between Fleshlight and Maxtasy, PDX Plus and Signature Strokers is the obvious difference in materials used for the sleeves, as well as the sensation from the ridges, orbs and nodes used to make the sleeve feel like the real thing.

This is another noticeable difference between these sorts of masturbators.

They all fit well in the hand but when it comes to holding on, there are differences. I found the Fleshlight was a little smaller in the hand and didn’t require as much changing grip. The Maxtasy felt good going on, and for the first few rhythmic strokes the sleeve did feel good but it did lose the impact of sensitivity.

The biggest drawback was easily the need to buy things separately.

4. PDX Plus

This was a little slippery to hold on to and made it harder to get fully carried away as it might slip out of the hand but it felt great going on and made quick work of the wood.

It was easy to clean as well and had a great texture.

5. Signature Strokers

It was fun to use especially while watching the namesakes quality content. But for me the material didn’t feel as skin-like and sometimes was a little more tacky than expected, even when it was completely dry.

Otherwise at this point, the differences between the Signature Stroker and PDX Plus really come down to the individual. There was no problem holding on while going to work and it was a nice fit going on.

What will be something of a big point of difference for many is the price differences.

Masturbators like the Signature Strokers and PDX Plus are not nearly as expensive as the Maxtasy, Fleshlight or Lovense versions, and they get the source of frustration sorted out just like the more expensive versions. Let’s face it, that’s the big test and each one I tried got the job done but if you’re wanting a tool that feels more like the real thing then save up a bit longer and get one of the more expensive kind.

However, if you’ve tried some of the varieties that are at unbelievable low prices, the first thing you notice is how they feel and frankly make you wonder if you should be putting anything in it.

Worthy Mentions

But if you are strapped for cash, here are the worthy mentions you can get in-store or order online right now.

  • Crazy Bull
  • Tenga
  • Cheap Thrills

The truth is you’ll achieve the same results with all of them, but if you’re on a budget then you can’t go wrong going with either Tenga, Cheap Thrills or Crazy Bull that fits your budget.

Hints and Tips for your Toys

  1. Wash it really well before using it and let it completely dry. If you can’t wait for it to dry properly, use a microfiber cloth to dry it. But seriously just be patient and wait for it to be completely dry and you’ll have a better (and bigger) time.
  2. Use lube – always use lube! While the Gush really didn’t need much lube, lube is definitely needed – having a raw sausage isn’t good for anyone.
  3. Wait until you’re nearly at full mast before using them. Unless you get the ones that have a vibrator or automated suction capacity, you’re going to get frustrated if you’re not nearly at full mast.
  4. It feels better if you don’t try to push all the way to the end of the sleeve – just like when you’re with a woman (unless that’s her thing to have your nuts up to her guts).
  5. Wash it thoroughly after each and every use. Follow the care instructions and buy some toy cleaner so it doesn’t get funky! And when you’re out buying toy cleaner, buy some microfiber clothes. They get the dust off your toy, won’t leave dust behind and will help the hygiene of your pocket mate.

We’d love to hear your feedback about your favorite self pleasure tools and what you think are the top 5.
